Kearns Improvement District 2026 Water Conservation Art Contest

Rules and Guidelines

 

Theme:            The art contest will revolve around the theme of “Water Conservation”. See https://www.kidwater4ut.gov/conservation-media for more information about “Water Conservation” efforts and ideas.

Participants are encouraged to create artwork that promotes awareness about the importance of water conservation in the KID service area, highlights water-saving practices or portrays the beauty of water resources.

Eligibility: The art contest is open to individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. Each contestant must reside within the service boundaries of the Kearns Improvement District.

Medium: Participants can choose any medium for their artwork, including but not limited to painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, photography, mixed media, and collage.

Originality: Artwork submitted must be original. Plagiarism or copyright infringement will result in disqualification.

Submission:    

    i.          Participants should submit a high-resolution photograph or scan of their artwork in digital format.
If the artwork is three-dimensional or requires physical presence, participants should provide clear photographs from multiple angles.
If photography artwork is submitted, a description of how the photograph was captured is required.

    ii.          The participant must share in 50 words or less on how the artwork depicts “Water Conservation”.

    iii.          All forms must be completed and sent in prior to judging in order to be considered.

    iv.          Submissions shall be sent to KIDContest@KIDWater4UT.gov by the submission deadline.

 

Artwork Specifications: The submitted artwork should be visually appealing, impactful, and easy to understand. It should effectively convey the message of “Water Conservation”.

Size and Format: There are no specific size requirements for the artwork, but participants are advised to ensure the clarity and visibility of their work when displayed digitally. Digital artwork should be submitted in common image formats (JPEG, PNG, or TIFF) with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

Submission Deadline: The deadline for the artwork submission will be April 3, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.

Judging Criteria: The artwork will be judged based on creativity, originality, adherence to the theme, technical skill, and overall impact.
