Requirements for service vary depending on whether you are signing up for residential or commercial service.  You may fill out an application below or you may also come into our office and fill out an application for service.  If applying in office, please bring your picture identification and proof of ownership of property.  Sign up hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. 

 

* If you are renting a home, the account must be requested by the property owner.  The account name must match the property owner recorded by Salt Lake County records.

 

Landlords

Kearns Improvement District requires owners of rental property to sign up for water and sewer service and put the account in their name.  Tenants are not allowed to put the account in their name.  If your property is in your current tenant’s name, it will be allowed to remain in their name.  However, to have service at the property when, or if, your current tenant moved and/or closes their account, you as the owner will need to sign up for service. 

 

To sign up for residential service:

  1. Verify you are in our service area. View the map here.
  2. Review terms and agreement click here.
  3. Fill out the Application for Service click here.
  4. The following items are required as an attachment when signing for service:
    • A copy of the Settlement Statement, Deed of Trust or Warranty Deed (the name on the document must be the person signing up for the service).

      To sign up for commercial property:

      1. Verify you are in our service area. View the map here.
      2. Review terms and agreement click here.
      3. Fill out the Application for Service click here.
      4. The following items are required as an attachment when signing for service:
        • Upon successful account sign up $35 will be added to first billing ($30 deposit & $5 service fee).
        • A copy of the Articles of Organization showing authorized signing agent(s), along with Settlement Statement, Deed of Trust or Warranty Deed. All agreements and paperwork must be approved by Kearns Improvement District.
