2026 KID: Budget, Water, & Sewer Rate Information
We want to inform you of upcoming increases to your water and sewer rates to become effective January 1, 2026. The decision was not made lightly, and we understand the impact it will have on you and your household. There are significant issues that are impacting this year’s rates:
- Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District (JVWCD) 7.6% wholesale water rate increase.
- Utah House Bill 274 – Mandating Landscape Water Tier Pricing Increases.
- Increased capital and maintenance costs of Water & Sewer Piping Materials due to Tariffs.
- A new Utah Division of Drinking Water Fee.
- Elimination of anticipated Federal and State Grant Funding.
- Continued payment of $500,000,000 mandated renovations of the Central Valley Water Reclamation Facility sewer treatment plant.
Through the budgeting process we have sought to minimize cost to the residential single-family customers, to more equitably apply the rates across all rate classifications, while continuing to meet the demands of providing safe, clean, and reliable water and sewer services. We remain committed to transparency and fiscal responsibility.
